Following their arrival back home at Cape Town International on Tuesday morning, the Springbok Sevens team on Wednesday embarked on a whirlwind roadshow to Bloemfontein and Gauteng to thank their supporters in these regions.

Soon after being crowned as HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series champions for 2016/2017, some of the BlitzBokke took to social media to express their appreciation for the love and support throughout the season.

In a FaceBook post on 22 May, team captain Philip Snyman wrote:

Standing here looking back at the season, I am so grateful to have been part of it all. The special band of brothers and the memories we made together is something I will cherish for the rest of my life.

I want to say thank you to my beautiful wife for supporting me unconditionally, I love you.

Also, a special thanks to our great sponsors ASICS & STEINHOFF and to all our family and friends back home – we value your support.

And then – to our Heavenly Father, for the talents & abilities to do what we love.

Today I feel truly blessed.

The BlitzBokke veteran Cecil Afrika, posted the following on Instagram on 23 May:

🏆🇿🇦Words don’t justify this feeling!!! 🇿🇦🏆

But THANK YOU to those who offered their support, time & effort behind the scenes; the management team, the supporters nationwide and the loved ones back home.

Your unwavering and loyal support is what amplified the good times and uplifted our spirits during the bad.

My personal journey has been met with a fair amount of challenges but has allowed me to grow and has made the experience all the more greater.

I am immeasurably grateful, happy and honoured to be a part of this culture and amongst brothers who encourage bringing out the best in each other, who have made the necessary sacrifices and put in the hard yards to achieve all we have – together.

Making history with you has been incredible and God has provided every step of the way! 🏉⚡🌐

I play for you today and the rest of my life. I love you.
