“Ins and Out in France: A Stormers shock”
This was the headline of a story on Rugby365.com when I turned on my iMac early this morning.
One of the first things I do in the morning (my Missus makes me brush my teeth first) especially a Monday morning after a Springbok test and the Junior World Championships Final, is read the headlines of the major sports websites.
Given the recent announcements that Springboks Ryan Kankowski and Wynand Olivier had signed on to ply their trade in Japan, this headline immediately caught my eye.
Could it be that Steven Kitshoff had indeed chosen to have every rugby fan and pundit in South Africa choke on their morning Post Toasties by announcing that he would join “the other Kitshoff” at French club Bordeaux-Begles? (it was announced in early May that Namibian international loose-forward Rohan Kitshoff had signed for this club).
@FrontRowGrunt who obviously does not eat Post Toasties in the morning promised “to investigate” and Tweeted this later:
By then I had already confirmed with Steven Kitshoff’s representative that the report was incorrect and that they have informed Rugby365.com as such.
The representative told us that even though the report featured a picture of the ginger-haired Stormers- and BabyBoks player, it was indeed an error in reporting on the part of Rugby365.com The earlier URL almost immediately returned this result:
Eish! What a way to start a Monday.
