Voting opens for IRB Player of the Year

The International Rugby Board today announced a shortlist of 3 players for Sevens Player of the Year in association with HSBC. The list was compiled by the management of all 12 core teams taking part in the HSBC Sevens World Series.

For the first time ever, the public are invited to vote on their choice. While this voting process will not be the sole criteria for the selection of Player of the Year, the popular choice will be considered before making the final announcement.

Here are the 3 players on the shortlist: 

Voting is now open

Public voting on the shortlist of nominees will open at 12:00 UK time on Monday, 7 May 2012 and close at 12:00 UK time on Sunday, 13 May 2012.

Final Announcement

The public vote will then be considered within the overall process, and the IRB Sevens Player of the Year in association with HSBC will be announced shortly after the conclusion of the final round of the Series at London’s Twickenham Stadium.
