That the 2012/13 HSBC Sevens World Series will be a long one was highlighted today when the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) announced Sevens fans could secure their tickets to the highly anticipated Gold Coast Sevens – Fever Pitch 2012 from Monday 16 July.
Earlier this year, BlitzBokke.com reported that, after making its debut in November last year, the two-day tournament will move to Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 October in 2012. The Australian-leg of the World Series will also kick-off the 2012/13 Season.
In addition to the earlier start, the season will also see the introduction of a tenth tournament as Rugby Sevens builds up to its inclusion on the 2016 Rio Olympic program.
Add to that the staging of the final Sevens Rugby World Cup (RWC) in Moscow, Russia in June 2013 and you have all the makings of an action-packed season.
Ticket prices
Tickets to Gold Coast Sevens – Fever Pitch 2012 will go on sale through www.ticketek.com.au at 9am on Monday 16 July. Prices range from $49 (General Admission – Concession) to $119 (Reserved – Adult). Reserved tickets for a family of four will sell for $238.
