What an exciting time in the history of Sevens rugby. After many years, top-notch Sevens returns to Japan and where else but at the Prince Chichibu Stadium, the spiritual home of Japanese rugby.
The record-breaking Sevens World Series will return to Japan’s capital for the first time since 2001 and, judging by advance ticket sales and fever-pitch interest, local Rugby fans are preparing for a big weekend of live Rugby Sevens action.
More than 35,000 people are expected at the Prince Chichibu Memorial Ground over the two days, an encouraging sign as Japan prepares to welcome the Rugby world to its shores in 2019 for the Rugby World Cup.

10h50 Tokyo:
Challenging conditions at the Prince Chichibu Stadium, to say the least. The media working area is located in the bowels of the stadium away from the action on the pitch. While there is wireless LAN available, I have yet to locate a sweet spot on the stands.
The weather is also deteriorating with every passing minute and the first raindrops started falling a few minutes ago.
The deteriorating weather conditions, however, did not deter some fans from dressing up for the ocassion:
