Stephanus Christiaan (Stephan) Dippenaar (24) hails from Moreesburg in the Western Cape.

A product of the well-known Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch, Stephan started his rugby career with the Western Province Under16 side.

After representing South Africa at the 2007 IRB Under 19 World Championships (Belfast, Northern Ireland) he continued his rugby career further north with the Blue Bulls. He would go on to wear the Green & Gold one more time at the 2008 IRB Junior World Championship in Wales.

In October 2011, SARU negotiated with his then-employers the Vodacom Blue Bulls to be released from his contract (due to end 31 October 2012).  Together with Bernado Botha and Mark Richards, Dippenaar then concluded a contract with the Springbok Sevens side for the next two seasons.

Stephan Dippenaar was today (31 January 2012) included in coach Paul Treu’s final 12-man tournament-lineup for the 2012 Hertz Sevens in Wellington, New Zealand.
