NZI Sevens: Cheerleading entry for SA

Earlier this year, shortly before the 2011 NZI Sevens, we featured the cheerleading squad who was selected to support the Springboks at the 2011 NZI Sevens in Wellington, New Zealand.

The group, called KTown gets Down, used the popular Waka Waka (by Shakira) as their themesong and also led the BlitzBokke during the popular NZI Sevens Street Parade.

It’s that time of the year again and organisers of the NZI Sevens recently called for submissions from potential cheerleading teams for next year’s event.

They announced this week that the first entry received was from a squad supporting SOUTH AFRICA!

The enthusiastic girls had this to say: Gumboot dancing originated in the gold mines of South Africa. We have attempted to rein-act some of the various steps and incorporate them into a cheerleading squad for South Africa!
