While typing this I am listening to Springbok Sevens stalwart Paul Delport (pictured below) making yet another guest appearance on The Taxi‘s ME Sport Show.
Paulie is making quite a name for himself on the media-side of the game having appeared on Cape Town TV’s Western Province Club Rugby Show with JP Naude several times.
While it IS Rugby World Cup ‘season‘ (the Springboks beat Namibia by 87 – 0 a few hours ago) I’m liking the tangent that the show is taking at the moment which is having Paul sharing his Sevens insights and experiences.
Paul also broke the news about former BlitzBok Marius ‘Shoes’ Schoeman having started the (world’s) first-ever Sevens Academy. Hey… you heard it first on ME Sports!
With the build-up to the 2011/12 HSBC Sevens World Series taking a bit of a back-seat what with the Rugby World Cup, it’s a nice break hearing from an insider as to what is happening in the BlitzBokke camp, pre-season.
