It’s all systems go for the big send-off for the the Springbok Rugby World Cup (RWC) team.
Thousands of supporters are expected to pack Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton tomorrow (Thursday, 1 September) as the team makes an on-stage appearance before flying off to New Zealand.
The Boks will depart from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International airport soon after.
However, Springbok fans in Cape Town should not feel left out as co-organisers PriMedia’s local brands Cape Talk and Kfm will go all out to make the Mother City part of the JoBurg celebrations.
A satellite farewell event will be hosted at the V & A Waterfront in Cape Town, where the centre’s management has painted the well-known Clock Tower in the Springboks’ Green & Gold especially for the event.
Former Springbok winger and current Supersport commentator Breyton Paulse, together with Ryan O’Connor (Kfm), Afrika Melane and Aden Thomas (both Cape Talk) will host the Cape Town event that kicks off at 3pm. at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre.
So as they say on the Cape Flats:
