The Voice-of-Sevens rugby commentary Nigel Starmer-Smith (pictured below) spoke to the IRB’s Total Rugby after last weekend’s London Sevens.
“(South Africa’s victory over Fiji was) One of the greatest tactical victories I’ve ever seen” he started out saying.
However, unlike some of his countrymen on Twitter after Sunday’s Cup Final, he added a diplomatic word of caution:
“I hope we don’t see it (the driving maul) too often, but once off it’s worked brilliantly”
