I once drove from Glasgow to the quaint Scottish West Coast town of Fort William, via Oban.

In a Ferrari.

I had spent a memorable month touring and speaking at various Rotary Clubs all over Scotland.  Next to my hometown of Cape Town, probably my next favourite country in the world.

So it’s rather serendipitous that the 2010/2011 HSBC Sevens World Series comes to its conclusion in the Scottish East Coast city of Edinburgh.

During my tour of Scotland, I was fortunate to visit and be shown around the operation of some of the country’s most famous sports facilities.  From The Old Course at St Andrews, Hampden Park, Ibrox Stadium and Murrayfield; where the Edinburgh Sevens kicks off tomorrow.

I hope the Boys will make their own happy memories of Scotland this weekend.

BlitzBokke Bo!

Here’s one of the legends of Murrayfield and Scottish rugby welcoming you to Edinburgh:
