Welcome to Hong Kong, Bokke!

The Springbok Sevens team left South Africa late last night (Sunday) for Hong Kong.

After about half a day in the air, they arrived in a foggy and humid Hong Kong early this morning, “lekker tired after the long flight” said coach Paul Treu on Twitter.

Kyle Brown Tweeted the following picture soon after arriving in the SAR:

The Springboks has a training session scheduled for around noon tomorrow to help dispel any remnants of jet-lag. (You have to love the Afrikaans term for jet-lag: vlug-flou-heid. Seems Kobus Wiese can be quite useful!)

BlitzBokke.com will attend the coaches’ press conference on Wednesday. That highly anticipated event will be preceded by a photo-call featuring the skippers of all 24 teams participating in this weekend’s Cathay Pacific/Credit Suisse Hong Kong Sevens.

Needless to say, you will get the low-down right here on BlitzBokke.com so like I always say:

Stay close.

Teams start arriving in Hong Kong

In other news, the Canadian team got right into the thick of things, conducting a coaching clinic at the local Canadian School.

Dallen Stanford, writing on his popular blog Paki’s Corner, reported that Hong Kong Stadium will see the return of one of the most experienced players for Team USA.

Readers will recognise the name of Todd Clever who had a spell with the Lions in Johannesburg.  Todd plies his trade in Japan these days. Welcome back to Hong Kong, big guy.

See you at the Sevens!
