Brian Habana’s loss of form last season is clearly reflected in the fact that not a single South African is on the IRPA list of top try-scorers.
The rest of the rugby-world AND the cheetah outdid the Springboks last season it seems!
Though it’s not all about Habana. A talent like young Bjorn Basson, who had an amazing season last year, is not even rated by the International Rugby Players Association (IRPA).
South Africa does feature THREE TIMES on the list, if only as the team the featured try was scored against!
The Top 18 tries are:
1. Shane Williams: Wals vs. France
2. Ben Foden: France vs. England
3. Shane Williams: Wales vs. Scotland
4. Dan Carter: New Zealand vs. Wales
5. Felipe Contempomi: Argentina vs. France
6. Conzalo Tiesi: Argentina vs. Scotland
7. Mils Muliaina: New Zealand vs. Australia
8. Israel Dagg: New Zealand vs. South Africa
9. James O’Connor: Australia vs. South Africa
10. Danielle Waterman: England vs. USA
11. Cobie-Jane Morgan: Australia vs. Wales
12. Huriana Manuel: New Zealand vs. Australia
13. Chrysander Botha: Namibia vs. Georgia
14. Nikola Matawalu: Fiji vs. Japan
15. Juan Jose Imhoff: Argentina A vs. Italy A
16. Chris Ashton: England vs. Australia
17. James Hook: Wales vs. South Africa
18. Adam Ashley-Cooper: Australia vs. New Zealand
