Some time ago we mentioned Springbok Sevens coach Paul Treu’s vision of keeping his experienced players “in the mix” so to speak.
He appointed the experienced Marius Schoeman as the manager of the SA second team to Sri Lanka while naming the former-BlitzBok Vuyo Zangqa as his second-in-command for the first two tournaments of the 2010/2011 HSBC Sevens World Series.
As a further tribute to Zangqa, Sasol today handed over an exquisite portrait of the player in his heydays with the BlitzBokke.
Vuyo is currently the official assistant coach to the Springbok Sevens side.
Here he is (below) with the artist, Christiaan Koen, and Richard Hughes of Sasol (right).
SASOL is in it’s final year as the official sponsor of all national (Springbok) sides and we would like to thank them for their contribution to growing the game of Sevens in South Africa.
Cheers SASOL.

Here is a sequence of images we put together of Vic when he sadly had to bow out of the game:
Cheers Bra Vic. We’re happy that you’re still with us.
