New Zealand beat South Africa in a tough but scrappy game (19 – 7) to secure a Cup quarter-final match against trans-Tasman neighbours Australia.

South Africa finished Day 1 of the NZI Sevens second overall in Pool A and will have an even tougher match against a rampant Fiji side. 

The line-up for Day 2 of the NZI Sevens

Bowl Competition (Quarter-finals)

Wales vs.                Papua New Guinea

Argentina vs.       Tonga

United States vs. France

Scotland vs.          Nuie 

Cup Competition (Quarter-finals)

New Zealand vs.   Australia 

Samoa vs.               Kenya 

England vs.            Canada 

Fiji vs.                      South Africa
